ARINC to Host Dr. ChartTM Application for MITEM; Will Provide
Secure Data Exchange for Med Centers, Labs
ANNAPOLIS, MD – February 2, 2006 - ARINC Healthcare Solutions today announced a contract to host on-line network applications for its technology partner MITEM Corporation, starting with MITEM’s Blue Iris Dr. ChartTM application for healthcare data exchange. ARINC previously announced an agreement to resell MITEM products and services as part of its expanding range of interoperability solutions for the healthcare market.
Dr. Chart is a powerful, flexible order-entry service that streamlines the ordering of lab tests and results reporting between physicians, hospitals, and clinical reference laboratories. MITEM acquired Dr. Chart in October 2005 from Zix Corporation. MITEM plans a seamless cutover from the Zix data center in February for its existing customers already using the hosted version of Dr. Chart.
ARINC will host Dr. Chart at its Class III data center in Annapolis, MD—the same data center that manages some 16 million data exchanges daily for the world’s airlines. In addition to offering its robust and highly secure data center, ARINC offers VPN and Managed Network services to support healthcare customers who might need greater availability and performance guarantees in their wide area networking.
“Hosting healthcare applications for MITEM—a leader in medical data integration—is a big step toward our strategic objective of becoming a major data exchange utility for the healthcare industry—just as we have been for more than two decades for the aviation industry,” stated Ray Dudley, ARINC’s Director of Healthcare Marketing and Sales.
Gale Aguilar, MITEM’s Chief Operating Officer, said “By hosting our Blue IrisTM series products at ARINC, we gain access to a highly secure, reliable network with over 70 years experience in life critical communications, for our hosted-service customers. We also gain a systems infrastructure that can support our business growth and the needs of our customers as hosted applications become even more critical to their physician outreach programs.”
